It Started With My Father
You don't plan to get sick.
But one day, something happens—and suddenly everything feels foreign.
This project started because of exactly that moment. My parents, both German, lived their dream retirement in Mallorca. Sun, sea, freedom. Then my father became seriously ill. He was placed in a Spanish private care institution. No one spoke German. No one truly understood him. He wasn't just sick—he was lost. At the same time, my mother was alone in their apartment. No social network. No community. No one to talk to in her own language.
What should have been the most relaxed phase of life turned into isolation, stress, and fear.
So many German-speaking retirees live in Spain. Yet when health begins to decline—even slightly—communication, continuity of care, and quality of life often break down.
That is why we are creating something different: not just a residence and not just healthcare, but a true German-speaking longevity community—where you are understood before you are ill.
Our vision is to create a "Blue Zone" in Spain for German-speaking retirees: a place with understandable medical care, prevention instead of crisis management, real community instead of loneliness, and independence for as long as possible.
Because growing older in Spain should never mean becoming invisible.

Not at all. Our community is designed for German-speaking residents, and all services, activities, and medical consultations are available in German. Many residents also enjoy picking up some Spanish through our optional language workshops — a wonderful way to connect with the local culture.
Both! We welcome couples and individuals alike. Our community is built around the idea of a new family — whether you come with a partner or on your own, you'll quickly feel at home. We offer accommodations for singles and couples, and of course for all types of relationships.
We make the transition as smooth as possible. After an initial consultation (in person or via video call), we'll help you choose your accommodation, plan your move, and handle the administrative details. We also offer trial stays so you can get to know the community before committing.
LLL is not a residence — it's a vibrant living community. There are no institutional routines or clinical environments. Instead, you'll find a family-like atmosphere, proactive health care focused on longevity, beautiful Mediterranean surroundings, and the freedom to live life on your own terms.
Yes! We know that animals bring enormous value to our well-being and are an essential part of many people's lives. That said, since we live in a shared environment, it's important to be mindful of potential allergies, sensitivities, or fears among other residents. For this reason, pets need to be managed responsibly, reasonably, and always with the agreement of the community.
Not at all. You keep your independence and the freedom to organize your day however you like. The community is there for you, but it's never imposed.
Longevity Living Lounge focuses on preventive health and independent living. If regulated healthcare or assisted care becomes necessary in the future, we provide support with transition planning. We work with external partners who offer these services, including in German. The concept is intentionally designed for self-sufficient residents.
Yes. We offer structured mid-term stays and trial pathways so you can experience the rhythm, the community, and the surroundings before making a long-term decision. Many residents find that once they feel the atmosphere, staying becomes the most natural thing in the world.
Always. You have your own private suite and complete autonomy. Community exists alongside privacy, not in place of it.
